The One Room Challenge began in 2011 when Linda Weinstein arranged for a group of friends to hold each other accountable as they each finished tackling just one room in their homes. The challenge has since turned into a highly anticipated design event that takes place every spring and fall. Each season highlights the work of a select group of talented design influencers as well as a number of guest participants. Now in its 20th season, the ORC encourages and inspires design enthusiasts as it celebrates creativity and originality. On Wednesday, September 29, this fall’s featured designers reveal the spaces they’ve selected and their plans to overhaul them. This season’s lineup includes Joy Williams of Joyful Designs Studio, who was selected as a participant by the Better Homes & Gardens home editors, along with 19 other talented designers and stylists. Every Wednesday for the following eight weeks, they will share the progress they’ve made and the challenges they’re facing. Although it has traditionally run for five weeks, the fall 2021 ORC has been extended to accommodate potential challenges caused by COVID-19, such as shipping delays. It all culminates with the big reveal on Wednesday, November 17. Follow us and One Room Challenge on Instagram as we share some of the ORC highlights. You can also follow #oneroomchallenge and #BHGORC so you don’t miss a single post. And be sure to look for the full recap of all 20 spaces on November 17. We can’t wait to see the stunning transformations!
