After writing for Pittsburgh Magazine and Delta Sky Magazine, she joined Rodale Inc. as a reporter and eventually became an associate editor. As associate health editor at Dotdash Meredith (formerly Meredith), she expanded her interests to write about pregnancy and parenting. She brought more than a decade of experience in interviewing doctors, nutritionists, and other experts on health topics to her work. Maria later became a senior editor at Hearst Magazines.
